Good for you! I know it
can be uncomfortable, even scary, to finally take that first
step. However, I can reassure you that most people quickly
get past any embarrassment or fear of therapy. They find

listener is a great relief. At the initial session, you will
have the opportunity to tell me at length what is going on
with you. I will ask you questions to bring out specific
kinds of information, but we can always talk about whatever
you want. As you get more comfortable, I will gently shift
your focus from your problems to what to do about them.
Working together, we will identify goals of therapy and
develop a plan to achieve your goals. The good news about
the cognitive-behavioral methods I use is that therapy can
often be accomplished quickly, typically in five to ten
