TERMS OF USE

 

1.      The information and self-help tools provided on the CyberPsychologist web site are for purposes of information and education, not psychotherapy or counseling.  Therapy involves establishing a professional relationship between a therapist and client for the purposes of identifying, diagnosing and treating mental and nervous disorders. By using the information and tools on this site, you understand you are not establishing a therapeutic, professional relationship with Dr. Sarmiento and that he will not be able to make any diagnosis or provide treatment.

2.      The self-help tools and information on www.cyberpsych.com constitute psycho-educational material such as might be found in a book.  They are provided with the intention of being useful, but without any warranty or guarantee of suitability or benefit for your particular use.  User agrees to use any and all materials on this site at their own risk.  User also acknowledges that self-help is not a substitute for professional psychotherapy or counseling.  As such, user agrees to indemnify and hold harmless Dr. Sarmiento, www.cyberpsych.com, it’s parents, subsidiaries, affiliates, officers, and employees from any claim, demand or damage including reasonable attorneys’ fees made by user or by a third party due to or arising out of your use or conduct of the web site.

3.      Dr. Sarmiento is a psychologist licensed to practice in the State of Texas.  His license number is 2-1448.  As such, he agrees to adhere to all rules of conduct and code of ethics from his licensing board and professional organizations.  His credentials can be verified by contacting the Texas State Board of Examiners of Psychologists at  Austin, Texas or 512-305-7700.   Any complaints or questions can also be addressed to this Board.

4.      Site user agrees that any contacting of Dr. Sarmiento, whether by mail, internet, chat, discussion list, email or telephone, shall be considered for legal purposes as equivalent to coming to his office regardless of your geographical location.  Thus, site user agrees to be bound by and use this service under the laws and regulations of the State of Texas, United States of America.  Resolution or arbitration of any claims or demands will take place in Texas.

 5.  All materials on the www.cyberpsych.com web site are copyrighted by Robert F. Sarmiento, Ph.D., including the current site, all previous versions and any future additions or modifications.  All rights are claimed by Dr. Sarmiento and copying by any means is expressly prohibited except for personal use or by written permission.      

6.  Accessing and using the www.cyberpsych.com site constitutes acceptance of the provisions, policies, disclaimers, and waivers presented in these TERMS OF USE.
